Despite regime’s claims, member of parliament Alireza Rahimi has revealed there is no footage of Sina Ghanbari committing suicide in Evin prison.

Alireza Rahimi wrote the news on his telegram channel just days after a group of 11 deputies on January 30, visited notorious Evin Prison and ward 209 where detained protesters had been held.

Alireza Rahimi, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission in the Majlis wrote a memo about the visit of a Majlis delegation to Evin Prison.

The memo reads in part:
“Before the visit, the head of the Prisons Organization, while announcing the statistics related to the January incidents (protests), said: The total number of prisoners in January was 4,972, 73.94% of whom were male and 27.5% of whom were women.

Neda EshraghiBroujni, a computer science Baha’i student at Kashan University, was expelled from university for following the Baha’i faith, according to news published on January 20, 2018. After taking away her student ID, university officials also denied her access to the university website and banned her from coming into the university dorm.

The letter posted below is addressed to the UN Secretary General on behalf of families of the Iranian protesters arrested during the recent uprising in Iran. Families are urging UNSG to take urgent action for the freedom of the prisoners. Iran Human Rights Monitor (IHRM) is supporting this appeal to UNSG and is calling upon all who are concerned about human rights violations in Iran to join adding their names to this letter.

London, 31 Jan - Human rights organisation Amnesty International has hit out at the “exceptionally cruel” execution of a juvenile offender in Iran.

Ali Kazemi, 22, was hanged on January 30 in a prison in Bushehr Province.

This execution was illegal under Iranian law, according to Amnesty, because no notice of the execution was given to Kazemi’s lawyer.

In a letter to the United Nations human rights rapporteur on January 31, the political prisoner Arash Sadeghi, who is on hunger strike, warned about the situation of Atena Daemi and Golkorki Iraee, while accusing five authorities of the Iranian regime's Prisons Organization.
