Solidarity with Iranian people uprisings & Camp Ashraf

As the world is rightly worried about the Iranian mullahs' nuclear ambitions and their support of international terrorism, millions of Iranians are demanding freedom and democracy and an end to all these atrocities. Iran's suppressive forces have killed, injured or arrested thousands and are prosecuting many as "Mohareb" (waging war on God), punishable by death; for raising their voice. Many have been charged with such ‘crime’ only for having a relative in Ashraf or having visited this beacon of hope. In order to stop the uprising, the regime wants Iraqi forces to eliminate its 3,400 opponents in Camp Ashraf.

An attack on Camp Ashraf in July 2009 left 11 killed and 500 injured. Nonetheless, the uprising continues with chants of "Down with Khamenei" and "Down with the principle of absolute clerical rule", with a goal of change of the entire regime. Ali Khamenei, the regime’s current Supreme Leader, and most of present judicial officials are among officials who ordered or perpetrated the 1988 massacre and are now issuing death sentences for political prisoners.

We (the undersigned):

- Support the Third Option proposed by Mrs Maryam Rajavi President Elect of NCRI i.e. democratic change by the Iranian people and their Resistance

- Urge the UN Security Council to take urgent action for the release of political prisoners and prevent the suppression of the uprisings.

- Call on UNSC to set up an international tribunal to bring the officials responsible for the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners (mostly PMOI supporters) in 1988 to trial for crimes against humanity.

- Urge the UN to protect Ashraf residents, end the siege of Ashraf imposed by agents of the Iranian regime in the Iraqi government and end the blockade of food and medicine.

- Demand US forces to guarantee that Ashraf residents would not face violence or forcible displacement in Iraq.
