Tehran Majlis Representative, Mahmoud Sadeghi tweeted about the arrest of attorney of law Mohammad Najafi in Arak. The lawyer was arrested on January 15 on charges of following up the case of Vahid Heydari who was killed during Arak protests.
Babak Jeydari, a middle age Tabriz demonstrator arrested in the recent Iran Uprising, launched a hunger strike by sewing his lips together six days ago, reports indicate. He is currently held in solitary confinement at Tabriz Central Prison, Northwest of Iran.
Azad Taghizadeh and Gholamali Mosavar, who were arrested during Kermanshah’s demonstrations, were transferred to Dizel Abad Prison without trial. In Ilam, the fate of Jawad Khaybar and Laleh Aghaei, who were arrested in this city, is still not known.
Six political prisoners identified as Mohammad Saleh Shahdadzehi, 30 year old Farooq Anvari, 40-year-old Idris Jamshidzehi, 30-year-old Abdolaziz Sotvan, 27-year-old Mahmoud Sotvan, and 28-year-old Hashem Zardkouhi who is a former bank employee were transferred to Zahedan Prison after nine months of torture at a detention centre run by the Ministry of Intelligence.
Greater Tehran District police officers were able to arrest 29 people affiliated with the Stealthy Freedom Campaign in Tehran. “The police arrested 29 people who disrupted social security and introduced them to the Judiciary,” The Tehran Police Information Centre announced in a statement. The clerical regime has increased the dimensions of blind arrests in many other cities. According to a preliminary report, the number of arrests in the first week of the uprising in more than 120 cities reaches 2,500.

The Iranian Regime has redeployed fighters from the Syrian Civil War, like the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMUs) and Afghan mercenaries, to quell the ongoing anti-regime protests that are happening across Iran.
Sources in Ahvaz, southern Iran, told Al Arabiya that the PMUs are joining Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and suppressive security forces in the streets of Abadan and Khorramshahr and in Al-Thawra neighbourhood in Ahvaz.
