Nine Young Men were Hanged in Adel Abad Prison, in Shiraz

Adel AbadNine men convicted of rape were hanged in Adel Abad Prison in Shiraz, south-central Iran, on Saturday 22 September.

These nine men had been tried and convicted in a trial to execution and the verdicts were upheld by the Branch 29 of the Supreme Court.

These men were all under 23, and were hanged despite the rape victim’s withdrawing her complaint.

The families of the men, had rallied in multiple occasions, outside the governor office of ‘Ghir va Karzin’ village, demanding halt of the execution sentences against their loved ones.
